Work

What I build, and how far along each one is.

One active pilot alongside worked examples and a concept. Every write-up is labelled, because a pilot in progress is not a finished result and an example is not a client. Names are withheld until a client agrees to be named.

What the labels mean

  • Active pilot Real work, in real use, still being extended. No performance figures are published while a pilot is running.
  • Example use case A worked example showing how a system of this shape would be built. Not a delivered project.
  • Concept A write-up of a problem worth solving. Nothing has been built.

Joining up orders, messages and buying for a fresh-produce wholesaler

Regional fresh-produce wholesaler

An operational platform being piloted across ordering, amendments, customer messaging and buying — so the people running the business can see what is happening without having to be in every conversation.

  • Customer portals
  • Workflow tools
  • Integrations
  • Dashboards & reporting
  • Hosting & backups

Read the write-up

What it covers

  • Website and account ordering as one front door
  • Order review, amendment and approval before picking
  • Customer messages, including WhatsApp, attached to the order
  • What has been ordered feeding what needs buying
  • A shared operational view of the day

Concept Construction & trades

Knowing what is planned, what is happening and what needs attention

Construction and electrical contractor

A concept, not delivered work: what an operations picture would look like for an owner who wants confidence in what is planned, in progress and finished — without sitting in every conversation to get it.

  • Dashboards & reporting
  • Customer portals
  • Integrations

Read the write-up

What it covers

  • Jobs, stages and who is on what
  • Actions and updates against the job, not in a chat
  • Documents, photos and sign-offs kept with the work
  • Materials, risks and things blocking progress
  • Handovers, and what is outstanding at each one

Example use case Manufacturing

Seeing a capacity clash while it is still a scheduling problem

Specialist engineering workshop

An example use case: turning accepted work into hours against work centres, so two jobs colliding shows up when the quote is accepted rather than in the week it matters.

Read the write-up

What it covers

  • Accepted work expressed as hours against a work centre
  • Capacity including planned absence, not one headline number
  • A forward view that flags clashes at the point of acceptance
  • Job stages visible without a whiteboard

Recognise your own process in any of these?

Every one of these started with someone describing a process they had outgrown, not with a specification. If that sounds familiar, it is worth a conversation.
